(Day #20 of our ‘100 Days of 100 Years of Murray State Basketball’ series features 1983 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year Glen Green. Green, who played for the Racers from 1979 to 1983, was part of three OVC championship teams. This article is a reprint of the one I wrote about Green after he passed away in May of 2023.)

December 7th, 1981 was an unusually warm day in South Bend, Indiana as Notre Dame prepared to host Murray State in basketball for the first time ever. While the near-sellout crowd of 11,035 jammed into the Athletic & Convocation Center were likely relishing the mild temperatures, they had no idea how disappointing this night would be.
