MBB: Evansville picked up one of the league's best non-conference wins Friday night

The Missouri Valley Conference went 3-0 in the non-conference Friday night, highlighted by Evansville’s 73-69 win over Oregon State in the opening round of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Evansville’s victory over #147 Oregon State is the second-best non-conference win by a Missouri Valley team this season. Northern Iowa’s victory over #134 South Dakota State remains The Valley’s best win. The Purple Aces will get a chance at the league’s best victory, by far, when they take on #71 Akron on Sunday.

Drake and Belmont also won big on Friday night against Non-Division I teams.

There are three games involving Valley teams on Saturday, with the biggest opportunity belonging to Northern Iowa, as they’ll travel to #131 UC Irvine.

• #135 Bradley — Drops 3 spots (Next: Neutral-site game vs. #223 Princeton Monday)

• #141 Drake — Drops 4 spots (Next: Friday vs. #36 LSU)

• #143 UIC — Drops 5 spots (Next: Neutral-site game vs. #313 Southern Indiana today)

In the conference rankings, KenPom has the Missouri Valley Conference still listed as the 10th-best league in the country. Last season, only seven conferences received multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament. Here are the updated KenPom conference rankings:
