MBB: UNI missed a chance to score a big road win for the Valley last night

Last night, Northern Iowa was the only Missouri Valley Conference team in action, as they lost in overtime, 83-77, to 2023 NIT champion North Texas. With North Texas ranked 86th in KenPom, this would have been the biggest non-conference win for the Valley in the opening week of the season, but the Panthers were unable to grab the win.

Drake will be the final Valley team to open their season when they host Lipscomb tonight. As we enter the night, there are still three Valley teams ranked in the Top 100 in KenPom.
