2000 title team will finally get their rings
MBB: That Racer team won a share of the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title

It’s been 25 years since Murray State won a share of the 2000 Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship. On December 6th, the Racers will finally get their championship rings.
"Racer Basketball is built on a tradition of excellence, and it was important for us to celebrate this historic team on what is the 25th anniversary of their historic title run," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said in a statement. "We are thrilled to welcome this team home on December 6th, and we are grateful for Mike Turner, Aaron Page, and our staff for helping us pull off what will be an exciting celebration."
That 2000 Racer team won the last of seven-straight OVC regular season titles, finishing their year 23-9 overall and 14-4 in the OVC. Murray State shared the regular season title with Southeast Missouri State, before losing to SEMO in the OVC Tournament championship game.
"A lot of hard work goes into winning a championship," Mike Turner, who was a senior on that team, said in a statement. "Everyone on this team was bought in and committed to winning championships. Twenty-five years ago, we were fortunate enough to be part of a program that was led by Coach Anderson and a great staff. It's an honor that the current administration and Director of Athletics Nico Yantko chose to honor this team. It will be a great night!"
The opponent for that December 6th game has yet to be announced.
