DJ Burns scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds as La Familia beat the Stroh’s Squad, 105-52, in the opening round of The Basketball Tournament — or better known as TBT.
La Familia is made up of primarily University of Kentucky alumni such as Willie Cauley-Stein, Archie Goodwin and Doron Lamb. The head coach of the team is former Wildcat Sean Woods, who coached Burns at Southern University from 2019-21. The Stroh’s Squad was made up of former players at Bowling Green.

TBT is a 64-team, single-elimination, winner-take-all tournament with a prize of $1,000,000. Advancing to the Round of 32, La Familia will now take on War Ready, a team of Auburn alumni, at 1:30pm CDT on Sunday. The game is scheduled to air on FOX.
