Canaan's 25 points lead Olympiacos to win
MBB: It was the most points Canaan has ever scored in a EuroLeague game
Isaiah Canaan scored 25 points, and knocked down 4-of-6 six three-pointers, to lead Olympiacos to an 89-72 EuroLeague win over Zalgiris Friday night. The 25 points were the most Canaan has ever scored in a EuroLeague game.
Canaan has played exceptionally well in the last week, especially with this long-distance shooting. Last Sunday, in a Greek Basket League matchup against Maroussi, the Murray State Hall of Famer scored 23 points and made seven three-pointers.
After the win over Zalgiris, a reporter asked Canaan if he’s the best shooter in the EuroLeague right now? His response via @Eurohoopsnet:
In his last three games, Canaan has made 15-of-22 (68.2%) from three-point range. For the season, he’s at 57.1% from the beyond the arc, which is up from 44.8% last year.
Olympiacos is currently 6-4 in EuroLeague play, in a tie for 4th-place out of 18 teams. Their next game in the Greek League will be tomorrow against Peristeri. Olympiacos returns to EuroLeague action Thursday against Monaco.
