When Isaac Chew started his college coaching career back in 2007 under Billy Kennedy at Murray State, he brought with him a three-year-old son named Patrick.

“Pat used to knock on my door to borrow sugar when we used to live on Bambi Lane when his dad and I were assistants,” Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm chuckled.

Fast-forward fifteen years, and Chew walked back into the Murray State basketball program. This time he wasn’t just a coach’s son — he was a player. Chew was one of five freshmen on last year’s roster, and ultimately Prohm made the decision to redshirt him. Chew says he was disappointed he didn’t get to play, but he understands it’s all part of the bigger picture.
