Cowart honored by Kosovo league

MBB: The former Racer big man led KB Peja to a win over Bora

Former Murray State forward Darnell Cowart is this week’s Kosovo SuperLeague Player of the Week as he helped KB Peja pick up their first win of the season.

Cowart scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Peja’s 98-93 win over Bora last Tuesday. He finished 9-of-17 from the field, including making a pair of three-pointers.

This is Cowart’s second season playing in Europe. After playing two seasons at Murray State from 2018-20, he spent the next three years with the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League. Last season, Cowart played in Barcelona, Spain for CB Santfeliuenc, and it turned out to be his best professional season so far. He averaged 23.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for Santfeliuenc.

Cowart will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Sigal Prishtina.
