Domon leads France to wins at FIBA U20
MBB: The Murray State freshman signed with the Racers last month
Incoming Murray State freshman Roman Domon is off to a strong start with France at the FIBA U20 EuroBasket, formerly known as the European Championship, in Greece. Domon has led France to a pair of wins over Slovenia and Iceland in group play in the last two days.
On Saturday, in France’s 79-64 victory over Slovenia, Domon scored a team-high 18 points while grabbing six rebounds in the win. Earlier today, in an 85-53 win over Iceland, Domon had nine points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in 22 minutes of action.
France will play Serbia on Monday to determine the winner of Group D. After tomorrow’s games, the 16 teams will be bracketed in a single-elimination tournament to crown the European champion.

Domon, a 6’9 wing who will turn 20 in October, started playing in France’s developmental leagues as a 16-year-old. This past season, he played for the BCM Gravelines Dunkerque in France’s top professional league. Domon has averaged 17.3 minutes, 6.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game for the team.
Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller said Domon is expected to make his way to Murray after he’s done playing for his country. The EuroBasket runs through July 20th.
