Drake's DeVries headed to West Virginia
MBB: Drake has won the last two Missouri Valley Conference Tournament titles

Drake’s run at the top of the Missouri Valley Conference took a direct hit on Sunday night. Drake Head Coach Darian DeVries has finalized a five-year deal to become the next head coach at West Virginia. WVU made the announcement official late this evening.
In his six years as Drake’s head coach, DeVries won 20+ games in each season, with a 150-55 overall record, and led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman is reporting DeVries son, Tucker, will be joining his father at WVU. On his way to earning his second-straight Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year award, Tucker DeVries averaged 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season.
Drake earned a 10-seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament, before falling 66-61 to 7-seed Washington State on Thursday.
