(Note from the home office: We had some minor audio issues in the final minutes of my interview with Lindy Suiter. Thank you for your patience and, hopefully, riding those issues out.)
This summer, we’ve had you vote on who you thought were the best players in the first 100 years of Murray State Men’s Basketball. Today we continue our countdown with former Racer Les Taylor, who you voted #16 on our list. ‘The Racer Insider’ Lindy Suiter joins the podcast to give his perspective on Taylor’s time at Murray State.
Taylor, who was the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in both 1972 and 1973, is one of five Racers to win multiple OVC Player of the Year awards. Coming to Murray from nearby Carbondale, Illinois, Taylor finished his career with 1,477 points and 539 rebounds — and he put up those numbers in just 70 games over three seasons. Taylor was inducted into Murray State’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987.
