Former Racer Carter Jr. will finish career at DePaul
MBB: Carter Jr. played at Murray State from 2019-2021

Chico Carter Jr. officially signed Monday to complete his collegiate career at DePaul. As a graduate transfer, Carter Jr. will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Carter Jr. started his career at Murray State in the 2019-20 season. Despite missing some time after breaking a bone in his hand in the Gulf Coast Showcase in November, Carter Jr. averaged 6.3 points and a career-high 2.3 assists in 22 games of action.
In the COVID season of 2020-21, Carter Jr. started nine games, and averaged 12.7 points per game. He was third on the team in scoring behind only Tevin Brown and KJ Williams.
After his sophomore season, Carter Jr. decided to return to his hometown of Columbia, South Carolina and transfer to the University of South Carolina. After playing fewer than ten minutes per game in 2021-22, Carter Jr. started all 25 games he saw action in last season. He averaged 9.8 points per game and shot 47.6% (40-of-86) from three-point range.
Carter Jr. will join a DePaul team that went 10-23 overall last year and 3-17 in the Big East. DePaul is looking to end an NCAA Tournament drought that dates back to 2004.
