Former Racer Sivills headed to Big Dance
MBB: Sivills led Wofford to a 92-85 win over Furman in SoCon championship game
Former Murray State Racer Jackson Sivills will close his collegiate career with another trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Sivills scored a career-high 20 points to help lead Wofford to the Southern Conference championship Monday night with a 92-85 win over Furman. Sivills made 6-of-9 shots, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, as Wofford earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2019. Here’s a look at some of Sivills’ highlights from the game, courtesy of ESPN+:
After a successful career at McCracken County High School in Paducah, Kentucky, Sivills signed with Murray State and Head Coach Matt McMahon. In his two seasons with the Racers, Sivills played in 29 games, starting one time, and averaged 2.1 points per game. Sivills was the part of the 2021-22 Racer team that went 31-3 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
After McMahon left for LSU in March 2022, Sivills entered the transfer portal and signed with Wofford, where he began a successful second act to his playing career. The 6’6 guard has now started 73 of 97 games with the Terriers over the last three seasons, averaging nearly eight points and four rebounds per game. Prior to tonight’s career-high performance, Sivills had scored 19 points on three different occasions with Wofford.
The Terriers will find out where they’re headed for the NCAA Tournament this Sunday.
