Future Racer Nichelson shines in high school finale
WBB: The senior scored 22 points in the KHSAA Sweet 16
Brooke Nichelson, who is part of Rechelle Turner’s 2025 recruiting class, finished out her high school playing career in style on Friday at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Sweet 16. Playing for North Laurel High School in London, Kentucky, Nichelson scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots in North Laurel’s 50-42 state quarterfinal loss to George Rogers Clark on Friday in Lexington.
North Laurel’s season comes to a close with a record of 32-3.
Nichelson led North Laurel this season with 23.7 points per game, shooting 57.1% from the field and 44.4% from beyond the arc. The 5’11 guard also grabbed 8.8 rebounds per game.
According to her X/Twitter page, Nichelson had scholarship offers from Western Carolina and Coastal Carolina before choosing Murray State. Prep Girls Hoops had Nichelson ranked as the #6 2025 prospect in Kentucky, and the #3 combo guard last summer.
