Haworth headed to Hopkinsville High School Hall of Fame
MBB: The former Racer walk-on has excelled as a high school coach
Former Murray State guard Tim Haworth learned Friday he will be part of the 16-person Planters Bank Hopkinsville High School 2024-2025 Hall of Fame class.
Haworth was a walk-on at Murray State for three seasons, culminating with an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2004. When his playing career was over, Haworth spent one season, in 2004-05, working as a Graduate Assistant under Racer Head Coach Mick Cronin.
At Hopkinsville High School, Haworth made his mark as the Tigers’ Boys Basketball Coach from 2010-18, as he racked up a record of 200-58. He led the Tigers to five district championships, plus five regional titles — which included four in a row from 2012 to 2015. In 2013, Haworth took the Tigers to the state semifinals. In 2014 and 2015, Hoptown advanced to the state quarterfinals in each season.
After the 2018 season, Haworth left Hopkinsville to take over the program at Louisville Male. In his six seasons with the Bulldogs, Haworth has amassed a record of 137-45, helping Male make the KHSAA Sweet 16 three different times. The Bulldogs made the state quarterfinals in 2022.
The Hall of Fame class will be inducted at Hopkinsville High School on January 10th.
