James wins second-straight Slovakia league title
WBB: 2018 OVC Player of the Year plays key role in championship win

Ke’Shunan James, a three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference player at Murray State, is now a two-time champion in Slovakia.
Playing for the Piešťanské Čajky Seagulls of the Slovak Women's Basketball Extraliga, James helped her club sweep to their second-straight league title.
"It's a great feeling to win the championship for the second year in a row,” James told Piešťanské Čajky’s official website. “We deserved it. We worked hard all this season and the season before. It just turns out that hard work pays off. I am happy with my team and coach. I am proud of everyone. This season showed me that if you work hard, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. We played against big clubs, smaller clubs, and we didn't underestimate anyone. If you are also the best team, you have to prove it on the scoreboard.”
James was one of only two players in the league this year to score at least 400 points, as she shot 64.8% from 2-point range, 36.2% from beyond the arc, and 88.8% from the free throw line. James also led the league in steals. She did all this after bouncing back from a serious knee injury during the 2021-22 season.
While at Murray State, James put together one of the most decorated careers in Racer history. After being named the 2015 OVC Freshman of the Year, James earned First Team All-OVC honors her final three years in Murray, which included being named the 2018 Player of the Year. Her 2,191 career points rank second all-time at Murray State.
