Kate the Great wins another championship
WBB: The former Racer helped the Knox Raiders win an NBL1 South title in Australia

Katelyn Young scored five points and grabbed two rebounds to help the Knox Raiders beat Geelong United, 84-64, to win the 2025 NBL1 South championship on Saturday in Australia. This was the first loss of the season for Geelong.
Young, who signed with the Raiders back in May, made both of her shots in 8:29 of action. She also chipped in with a blocked shot on the defensive end.

Trailing by one after the first quarter, the Raiders outscored Geelong 22-14 in the second period to seize control of the game as they won going away. This is the first championship for the Raiders since 2013.
Here are highlights from the game, including some of Young’s day:
Young joined the Raiders midway through the season back in May. In her 13 games with the team, she averaged about 14 minutes while scoring 6.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Young shot 62.5% from two-point range in Australia.
Before she headed Down Under a couple months back, Young said she planned to head to Europe at some point to play this fall, although she didn’t have a team lined up at the time.
