May named new Michigan head coach
MBB: The former Murray State assistant spent the last six years at FAU

Dusty May is now a Michigan Man.
After spending six successful seasons as the head coach at Florida Atlantic, May is now taking his talents to Michigan. The University of Michigan made the announcement official on Sunday.
May got his first assistant coaching job at Eastern Michigan in 2005. The next season, May headed to Murray, Kentucky to join Billy Kennedy’s first staff at Murray State for the 2006-07 season. After moving on to UAB for two seasons, May spent the next nine years working for Mike White at both Louisiana Tech and Florida. In 2018, he got his first head coaching job at Florida Atlantic. May never had a losing season at FAU, while punctuating his tenure with a trip to the Final Four in 2023. The Owls won 60 games in the last two seasons — only Houston and UConn won as many over that stretch.

May replaces Juwan Howard at Michigan, who was dismissed after five seasons in Ann Arbor.
