Memphis suspends Morant from all team activities
MBB: Morant was shown holding a gun in a new social media video

The Memphis Grizzlies announced Sunday they have suspended Ja Morant from all team activities after another video of Morant with a gun showed up on social media Saturday night.
The team’s statement read: “We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant. He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”
Back in March, National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver suspended Morant for eight games after a video surfaced of Morant showing a gun while at a Denver club. During his time away from the Grizzlies, Morant sought counseling to better handle stress in his life. Silver called Morant’s actions “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous.”
Morant just finished his fourth-season with the Grizzlies, as he helped lead Memphis to the #2-seed in the Western Conference Playoffs, before they were knocked off by the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round. Morant was the only player in the NBA to average at least 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists this past season. Morant’s new five-year, $194,000,000 contract begins next year.
