Miller announces hiring of VerHulst
MBB: The newest Racer assistant coach was most recently at Memphis

Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller has been looking to fill the ‘offensive coordinator’ vacancy on his staff, and he has now found his man. Wednesday, Miller announced the hiring of Jordan VerHulst as his newest assistant coach.
"We are excited to welcome Jordan VerHulst to our Murray State coaching staff," Miller said in a statement. "His extensive experience at Memphis, Auburn, and the G-League, paired with his offensive expertise, will elevate our program and help us compete for championships in the Missouri Valley Conference."
VerHulst comes to Murray State from Memphis, where he just finished his second stint with the Tigers. From 2009-14, he was a graduate assistant and video coordinator under former head coach Josh Pastner. After leaving Memphis in 2014, VerHulst spent time at Auburn, Chipola Junior College, Division II Grand Valley State and the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA G League.

Upon returning to Memphis in 2021, VerHulst spent three years as the Director of Scouting for Tiger Head Coach Penny Hardaway, before being named Director of Basketball Operations this past season.
"I'm humbled and appreciative of the opportunity to come join Coach Miller's staff at Murray State," VerHulst said in a statement. "It's an honor to work with him and the staff that he's put together every day as we strive for championships. I'm ecstatic about the potential of this program and can't wait to get to work."
Miller has discussed using a ‘football method’ of delegating roles on his staff, and VerHulst will be the offensive coordinator while Associate Head Coach Brendan Mullins has been named the defensive coordinator.
