Moore leads Norfolk State to Big Dance
MBB: The former Racer guard was named MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player

Brian Moore scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds Saturday to help Norfolk State rally back and beat South Carolina State, 66-65, in the MEAC Tournament championship game. This is the fourth time the Spartans have earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament, with the other three coming in 2012, 2021 and 2022.
Moore, the former Murray State guard who played for the Racers from 2022-24, earned MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
The senior guard started 26 of 57 the last two seasons with Murray State, averaging 8.6 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field and 29.3% from three-point range.
This season, Moore took a giant leap forward, as he averaged 18.5 points per game, while knocking down 55.1% of his shots and 41.2% from beyond the arc. Those numbers helped Moore earn 1st Team All-MEAC honors this season.
With a record of 24-10, ESPN’s Bracketology has Norfolk State listed as a #16-seed, playing #1-seed Florida in the opening round. Moore and the Spartans will find out their fate officially when the NCAA Tournament field is released at 5:00pm on Sunday.
So glad for this young man to have found a home and excelled for himself and lead his team to The Dance. Hated it that it didn't work out for him here
