Morant to miss the rest of the season
MBB: The Grizzlies' guard injured his shoulder at practice on Saturday

Memphis Grizzlies’ guard Ja Morant will miss the rest of the season after injuring his shoulder at practice on Saturday.
The Grizzlies released the following statement today: “At Saturday’s training session, Morant suffered a subluxation of his right shoulder. Following ongoing soreness and instability, Morant underwent an MRI that revealed an underlying labral tear. Morant will undergo season-ending surgery and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.”
After serving a 25-game suspension to start the season, Morant led Memphis to a 6-3 record after his return while averaging 25.1 points and 8.1 assists per game.
Morant, who is in the first year of a five-year, $197 million dollar contract extension, is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2024-25 season.
The Grizzlies are currently in 13th place in the NBA’s Western Conference with a 13-23 record.
