Brendan Mullins spent the last five seasons working as an assistant coach under his brother Bryan at Southern Illinois. When SIU Athletics Director Tim Leonard made the decision to part ways with Bryan and his staff one day after the Salukis lost to UIC in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, Brendan’s job search became almost a job scramble.
