Mullins named Associate Head Coach
MBB: This is the second year Mullins has been with the Murray State program

Murray State officially announced on Tuesday that Brendan Mullins has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.
"My wife, Alexandria, and I are incredibly grateful to call Murray home and to be raising our daughter in such a welcoming and passionate community," Mullins said in a statement. "The tradition of excellence at Murray State, both on and off the court, is something we deeply value. I'm honored by the opportunity to continue serving this historic basketball program in an expanded role, and I am thankful to Coach Miller for his trust and leadership. The energy our student-athletes bring every day, combined with the incredible support from our student body and fans at the CFSB Center, makes this a truly special place. I'm excited about the direction we're headed and look forward to building something great together."

This is Mullins’ second year with the Racer program. He came to Murray State prior to last season, after spending the previous five years coaching under his brother at Southern Illinois.
"I'm thrilled to announce Brendan Mullins' promotion," Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller said in a statement. "His extensive experience in the Missouri Valley Conference, paired with his relentless work ethic and exceptional defensive acumen, has earned Brendan this role with our team. Brendan has the ability to craft aggressive, disciplined defenses that will strengthen our team as we pursue MVC championships."
Miller has said that Mullins will be the team’s ‘defensive coordinator’, as the first-year Racer head coach is building his coaching staff using a sort of ‘football method.’
Before working at SIU, Mullins had coaching stops at Illinois State, UIC, Wright State, Green Bay and Mercyhurst.
Brendan is a wonderful young man with a tremendous family and basketball pedigree! He will be a wonderful Associate Head Coach as he was when he coached with that title with his brother, Brian, at SIU. Our loss is Murray State’s gain as Brendan is surely headed for a head coach position before long! God bless you Brendan and family!!
