Murray State #18 in Mid Major poll
WBB: The Racers are the only Missouri Valley team ranked this week
Murray State jumped eight spots up to #18 in this week’s CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll.
The Racers have won 10 games in a row following their 83-62 win over Belmont on Sunday in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game. Murray State is currently tied for the 11th longest winning streak in the country.
South Dakota State picked up 30 of a possible 31 1st place votes and is #1 again this week in the Mid Major poll. Grand Canyon, who has won 30-straight games, got the other 1st place vote and is #2 this week.
Murray State is the only Missouri Valley Conference team ranked in the Top 25. Missouri State, Drake, Belmont and Northern Iowa are all in the ‘Others Receiving Vote’ category.
The Racers will play Iowa in Norman, Oklahoma in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
