MBB: The Racers beat the Braves, 79-72, in Murray back in November

One of the running issues for Murray State in the last season-and-a-half has been their inability, at times, to string together 40 good minutes in a game. We’ve seen the Racers play good halves, even playing well for 30 or 35 minutes. But for whatever reason, the full 40 minutes has been elusive at points.

There’s no greater example of that than rewinding to February 11, 2023. Murray State traveled to Bradley in hopes of completing the season sweep after having already beaten the Braves in Murray six weeks earlier. With 2:00 left in the first half, the Racers trailed 23-21. After Bradley closed the half on a 7-0 run to take a nine-point lead to the locker room, the Braves exploded for 53 second-half points to roll to an 83-48 victory. Eleven months later, that game has not been forgotten by the Racers.
