Murray State receives votes in Mid-Major poll
MBB: Four Missouri Valley teams are in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 this week

In the first CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll of the season, Murray State was outside the Top 25, but received enough votes to be in 35th place overall. Omaha, who the Racers will play in the first game of the season next Monday, is ranked 36th in the poll.

Gonzaga is #1 in the poll, picking up 28 of a possible 31 first-place votes. Saint Mary’s, who is #2 in the poll, grabbed the other three first-place votes.
Four Missouri Valley Conference teams found themselves in the Top 25 this week. Illinois State is #4, Northern Iowa is #11, Bradley is #18, and Belmont comes in at #24.

Murray State will play a pair of ranked teams during the non-conference portion of their schedule. The Racers will play #7 Akron on December 13th as part of the Jack Jones Classic in Henderson, Nevada. They’ll also play #20 McNeese during Thanksgiving week in the Cayman Islands.
Drake and Southern Illinois join Murray State as the three Missouri Valley teams in the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ category.
