MVC releases TV times for ESPN games
MBB: Murray State is guaranteed at least one game on ESPN family of networks
The Missouri Valley Conference announced the 31 games this year which will feature Valley teams on the family of ESPN Networks. At this point, we know Murray State will play three games, and could play as many as 12, as part of the Valley’s TV package on ESPN.
The three games we already know will be:
January 21st: Indiana State at Murray State — 4:00pm/ESPN2 or ESPNU
January 30th: Illinois State at Murray State — 7:00pm/ESPN+
February 28th: Belmont at Murray State — 7:00pm/ESPN+
The rest of the games Murray State could play on the ESPN networks fall under the category of the Valley’s “Wildcard” games — that’s where two weeks ahead of time, the conference determines which game is the best one to showcase on national television.
Here are the Murray State games that COULD end up as wildcard selections, but, again, we won’t know until two weeks out:
January 14th: Northern Iowa at Murray State — 2:00pm/ESPN2
January 27th: Southern Illinois at Murray State — Time TBA/ESPN2 or ESPNU
February 3rd: Murray State at Northern Iowa — Time TBA/ESPN2
February 10th: Evansville at Murray State — Time TBA/ESPNU
February 18th: Murray State at Drake — Time TBA/ESPN2 or ESPNU
February 24th: Valparaiso at Murray State — Time TBA/ESPN2 or ESPNU
March 3rd: Murray State at Indiana State — Time TBA/ESPNU
March 7th: Missouri Valley Conference Tournament 1st Round — ESPN+
March 8th: Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Quarterfinals — ESPN+
If the “Wildcard” games are not picked up by ESPNU or ESPN2, they will generally be moved to ESPN3.
As we saw last year, the Racers could end up playing on other linear TV stations, such as the CBS Sports Network. Those times have not yet been announced.
The majority of Murray State’s streamed games will be either on ESPN3 or ESPN+. ESPN3 requires a login from your cable provider, while ESPN+ is a separate subscription.
As always, these times and TV locations can change, so be sure to visit GoRacers.com for the most up-to-date information as we get closer to the season.
Looking forward to basketball season
