MBB: Isaiah Canaan scores 21 points as Olympiacos falls to Real Madrid

Murray State Hall of Famer Isaiah Canaan scored 21 points as Olympiacos fell to Real Madrid, 79-78, in the EuroLeague championship game Sunday in Lithuania.
Canaan got off a hot start making three three-pointers in the first quarter, helping Olympiacos get out to an early 24-17 lead.
On the day he turned 32, Canaan made his final basket with 2:13 remaining in the game to put Olympiacos up 78-72. They would not score again.
Real Madrid ended the game on a 7-0 run, capped by Sergio Llull’s basket with three seconds left to clinch the 79-78 win.
Canaan was magnificent offensively on the afternoon. He had 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including making 5-of-6 three pointers, and added two rebounds and one assists.
The win gives Real Madrid their 11th-EuroLeague championship, and their first since 2018.
