Pearson commits to High Point
MBB: The 2026 recruit took an official visit to Murray State in late August
Trey Pearson, a 4-star guard in the 2026 recruiting class, has told 247Sports.com that he’s committed to High Point.
247Sports has Pearson listed as the #116 player in the country and the #4 prospect in the state of Tennessee in the 2026 class.
"I had some great options with some great coaches recruiting me down the stretch,” Pearson told 247Sports. “My main goal was to go somewhere where I could make an immediate impact. I believe that is High Point.”
Murray State fans were hopeful Pearson would follow in his father’s footsteps and play for the Racers. The elder Trey Pearson played for Murray State from 2003-06 for Mick Cronin, earning All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in 2005 and helping the Racers make the NCAA Tournament in 2006.

Pearson took his official visit to Murray State in late August, while Racer coaches did an in-home visit with Pearson last Friday. He also took official visits to Middle Tennessee and then High Point in recent weeks.
The 6’2 point guard is now preparing to complete his high school career at Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
