Missed free throws in big spots. 

Defensive breakdowns. 

Scoring 49 points at Austin Peay. 

If you want to point to any one specific reason for Murray State getting off to a 3-5 start, you’ve got plenty of candidates to choose from. Coming off Saturday’s loss in Clarksville, the incredulous question I’ve heard asked over and over is: “We only scored 49 points?” While it’s certainly tough to win a game scoring just 49 points, there are any number of small moments throughout a game, or five games, that when added together, ultimately lead to a loss. That is the puzzle Murray State Head Coach Steve Prohm is trying to solve with his team after losing five of their last six games.
