It is nearly inevitable that at some point during a basketball season, a team will be forced to play without a full roster. Whether it’s due to illness or injury, someone is bound to miss a game or two (or ten) somewhere along the line.

Murray State has had to deal with their share of missed time this year. Junior guard Briley Pena got sick before the Alabama game and couldn’t play. Halli Poock fell ill prior to last week’s game at Southern Illinois and ended up having to skip both the SIU and Missouri State games. Despite losing to the Lady Bears without their second-leading scorer, Katelyn Young believes the Racers adapted well to being shorthanded.
