Racers picked 2nd in Valley preseason poll
WBB: Belmont is picked to win the regular season championship

The last time we saw Murray State and Belmont on the court together, the Racers were winning the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship in Evansville back in March. Fast-forward seven months, and Belmont and Murray State have been picked 1-2 in the Valley’s preseason poll.
The conference only released the Top-4 teams in the preseason poll, with Belmont and Murray State being followed by Illinois State and Drake. All four schools earned first place votes, with Belmont picking up the most with 25 of a possible 44.
The Racers and Bruins are the only schools in the Valley to bring back All-Conference players from a season ago. Belmont returns a pair of All-Valley performers in junior guard Jailyn Banks and sixth-year senior guard Tuti Jones. Murray State, of course, brings back a pair of 2nd Team All-Valley guards in Halli Poock and Haven Ford.
Belmont will play at Murray State this season on January 18th, while the Racers will make their annual trip to Nashville on January 31st.
