Racers ranked #8 in preseason Mid-Major poll

Murray State is ranked 8th in the first CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll of the season. It’s the highest the Racers have ever been ranked in this poll.
South Dakota State is ranked #1 this week, picking up 20 of a possible 31 first-place votes. The Racers will play the Jackrabbits on the road on November 11th.
Murray State is one of three Missouri Valley Conference teams in the Top 25 this week. Illinois State is 12th and Belmont is 14th. Drake is the only Valley team to be in the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ category.

After playing an exhibition game next Monday against Trevecca, Murray State will open their season November 7th at Southern Indiana.
