Six-game losing streak? That’s in the past.

Worst start for a Murray State basketball team in 32 years? That, also, is in the past.

After losing to SMU last Friday to fall to 3-9 on the season, the Racers limped into Christmas break on a slide we haven’t seen in a generation. As the players and coaches scattered around the country to spend a long holiday weekend with friends and family, the break provided an opportunity for a much needed respite. The Murray State basketball program, as a whole, had a chance to go home, take a deep breath, flush the feelings of the first 12 games and then come back to Murray ready to attack the rest of the season.
