Ranson takes new assistant coaching job
MBB: Ranson was a Graduate Assistant with the Racers during the 2023-24 season

Former Murray State Graduate Assistant Mike Ranson has taken an assistant coaching job at Division II Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Ranson came to Murray State for the 2023-24 season, following a one year stint as an assistant at Division II Western Colorado. When Jonathan Mattox left Murray to become the head coach at Morehead State after the season ended, Ranson followed Mattox to become an assistant coach and the Director of Player Development for the Eagles.
A native of Pueblo, Colorado, Ranson is returning home to coach at CSU Pueblo. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the school.
Before getting into coaching, Ranson played three years of college basketball at Northern Colorado and Fort Lewis College.
