Report: Murray State will play Akron this season
MBB: The game will be a neutral site game in Henderson, Nevada in December

CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein is reporting Murray State will be facing Akron in a neutral-site game in Henderson, Nevada on December 13th.
The game will be part of the Jack Jones Classic, which last year featured three matchups of mid-major teams — including Bradley facing Santa Clara. Henderson is 16 miles from Las Vegas.

The Racers will take on an Akron squad that finished 28-7 last year, winning the Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament championships, on their way to making the NCAA Tournament. The Zips finished the season ranked #91 in the NCAA NET rankings and #100 in the KenPom ratings. Akron has been to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four seasons.
As for this year’s non-conference schedule, here’s how it looks at this moment:
TBA — Home vs. Little Rock (Back end of a home-and-home series that started in 2023-24)
November 11 — at SMU
November 23-25 — vs. McNeese, George Washington and Middle Tennessee (at the Cayman Islands Classic)
December 2 — vs. Morehead State
December 13 — vs. Akron (in Henderson, Nevada at the Jack Jones Classic)
With 20 conference games, Murray State still has four non-conference games to fill to complete their slate for next season. The Missouri Valley schedule likely won’t be released until closer to September.
Any update on the date for the game against little rock?
