Sherrer lands job at Morehead State
MBB: The former Murray State assistant joins Jonathan Mattox with the Eagles

Former Murray State Assistant Coach Bryan Sherrer has taken a similar position at Morehead State. Sherrer will join Jonathan Mattox, who is entering his second season as Morehead State’s head coach. Mattox was on Steve Prohm’s staff at Murray State from 2022-24.
Sherrer had two different stints on Prohm’s staff at Murray State. From 2011-14, Sherrer was a Graduate Assistant for the Racers. In his first season in Murray, Sherrer was part of the program when Isaiah Canaan and the Racers finished their historic year 31-2. In the 2013-14 season, Sherrer was part of the staff when a freshman named Cameron Payne led Murray State to a CIT championship.

After leaving Murray State, Sherrer spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He then took an associate head coaching position at Arkansas-Pine Bluff from 2021-24.
Sherrer returned to Murray State for the 2024-25 season to work with Prohm again, this time as an assistant coach. He now joins a Morehead State program that went 15-17 overall last season, and 10-10 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
