Traynor OK after leaving Nicholls game early
MBB: The senior forward appeared to injure his leg late in Saturday's game

Murray State senior forward JJ Traynor is OK after needing assistance leaving the floor Saturday late in the Racers’ win over Nicholls.
With less than three minutes to go in Saturday’s game, Traynor tried to block a shot from behind, and then landed awkwardly, falling to the floor. He had to be helped to the bench by teammates and trainers.
During Monday’s recording of the ‘Racer Report Live’, Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller said Traynor’s injury looked worse than it actually was.
“He’s fine,” Miller said. “You know, it’s going through a season. It’s a tough, physical season. There’s going to be knicks and bruises and bumps, and we’ve got to fight through that stuff. You’re either hurting or you’re injured — those are two different things. You’re going to be hurting all year long. We’re playing physical opponents. We’re going to try to play a physical, in your face brand of basketball. There’s going to be bumps and bruises. We have to get with our trainers. We have to make sure our nutrition is right. We have to make sure we’re getting plenty of water in us to be able to perform at the highest capable level that each individual can. You’re going to be dealing with bumps and bruises, and you’re not going to feel 100%. It’s going to be completely impossible. So guys have got to live with it a little bit and fight through that so we can have a successful season.”
Traynor is averaging 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season. He and the Racers will host Little Rock Tuesday at the CFSB Center.
