Turner, Evans have unbreakable coaching bond

WBB: 2023-24 will be their 27th-season working together

Murray State Women’s Basketball Coach Rechelle Turner and her assistant Monica Evans are preparing for their seventh-season together with the Racers. They have been joined at the basketball-hip for more than three decades. Their journey together started as teenagers, with Turner growing up in the Marshall County school system and Evans at Calloway County.

“From middle school on, we played a Box-and-1 (defense) and I chased her the entire game, the whole time, every year,” Evans remembered as we sat and talked in her office last week.
