Last season was anything but ordinary for Murray State junior forward Alden Applewhite. After playing his first two seasons at Mississippi State and Portland, respectively, Applewhite did not expect to play at all in his first year in Murray. As a two-time transfer, Applewhite believed he’d need to sit out the entirety of the 2023-24 season.

That belief proved to be wrong.
