Vice says he's committed to the Racers
MBB: The 6'10 freshman redshirted at Creighton in 2023-24
The Creighton-to-Murray pipeline continues to pump out talent for the Racers, as 6’10 redshirt freshman forward Brock Vice has posted on social media that he has committed to Murray State.
Vice, who is from Memphis, went to Creighton for his freshman season in 2023-24, when Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller was working with the Bluejays as an assistant coach. Vice did not play during that season, instead using the year to redshirt.
After his freshman season, Vice transferred to North Texas, where he played in five games in 2024-25, scoring a total of six points in 17 minutes of action. When UNT Head Coach Ross Hodge left the school to over the West Virginia program, Vice went back into the transfer portal — and he’s now reunited with Miller.

There is a Murray State connection with Vice, as his father, Vance, was an offensive line coach for the Racers back in 1999 under Denver Johnson.
With Vice’s commitment, Murray State now has eight players who are set to be on next year’s roster playing for the Racers:
Ben Shtolzberg (6’4 senior guard/3.8 PPG last year at UC Santa Barbara)
KJ Tenner (6’0 sophomore guard/2.4 PPG last year at West Virginia)
Mason Miller (6’9 senior guard/1.1 PPG last year at Creighton)
Fredrick King (6’9 senior forward/2.7 PPG last year at Creighton)
JJ Traynor (6’9 senior forward/5.6 PPG last year at DePaul)
Javon Jackson (6’3 senior guard/11.6 PPG last year at UIC)
Layne Taylor (5’11 sophomore guard/17.4 PPG last year at Central Arkansas)
Brock Vice (6’10 sophomore forward (1.2 PPG last year at North Texas)
Here are the four players who could potentially return to the Racers next year, but have yet to make anything publicly official regarding their future:
Junior guard Patrick Chew
Senior guard Justin Morgan
Incoming freshman guard Tristian Ford
Incoming freshman guard Kaden Rickard
Once any of those four players publicly announce their intention to play for the Racers next year, they will count toward the seven available scholarships Miller still has the ability to fill for the 2025-26 season.
Coach is getting some big guys, at least for the MVC. Time will tell if these guys can play.
