When Trinity White transferred to Murray State from Butler before the 2023-24 season, Murray State Head Coach Rechelle Turner thought she was bringing in a three-point shooting threat to help the Racers in the team’s first year of using their up-tempo system. White struggled in her first season in Murray, shooting a career-low 26.2% from beyond the arc and she averaged just 3.7 points per game.

This season, Turner’s needs for White have evolved. With Murray State’s ‘Big Four’ of Haven Ford, Ava Learn, Halli Poock and Katelyn Young combining to average 64.8 points a game, there isn’t much of a need for White, who started all 14 games, to prioritize the offensive end of the floor. Instead, she has applied herself on defense, and White has found a way to impact winning by doing the dirty work for the Racers.
