Who is the most efficient Racer this century?

I’m going to preface this entire article with the fact there are going to be a lot of numbers in this one. It’s analytics-based, and your mileage may vary. At the very least, I’m guessing it will cause some debate among the Murray faithful.

Since I have weird hobbies, I was spending some time this week going down a rabbit hole on KenPom.com looking at offensive efficiency numbers for former Murray State players. That led to me grabbing the legal pad and scribbling down the most efficient seasons for former Murray State players. I probably need to get outside and take more walks, but here we are.

KenPom’s offensive efficiency numbers go back to the 2001-02 season. That was the last season before I arrived to cover the Racers, so for this exercise we will start with the 2002-03 season. The only qualifier I added to this was the player needed to play at least 70% of their team’s minutes that season. We’ve had some wildly efficient players over the years who have only played about ten minutes a game. I wanted the guys who most impacted winning during the seasons we’re about to talk about.
