Young scores season-high in Australia
WBB: The former Racer helped the Knox Raiders beat Nunawading 86-40

Katelyn Young scored 13 points to help the Knox Raiders beat the Nunawading Spectres, 86-40, in NBL1 action in Australia on Saturday. With the win, the Raiders are now 16-3 overall and sit in second place in the NBL1 South Division.
The NBL1 is the second-tier of professional basketball in Australia.
Young scored a total of 21 points in her first six games with Knox, but had a breakout performance against Nunawading. Murray State’s all-time leading scorer went 6-for-7 from the field, knocking down her only three-point attempt, while also picking up four rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes of action.

With her playing time increasing with each outing, Young has grown into being a key piece of the Raiders’ success. There are three regular season games remaining for Knox, with the finale being played on July 19th, before the postseason begins.
Back in May, Young said once she wraps up in Australia, she plans to head to Europe at some point to play this fall, although she doesn’t have a team lined up just yet.
The Raiders’ next game will be on Saturday against the Ringwood Hawks.
