Young signs with Australian pro team
WBB: Murray State's all-time leading scorer will play for the Knox Raiders

Katelyn Young, Murray State’s all-time leader in points and rebounds — and the undisputed greatest player in program history, has signed her first professional contract to play in Australia.
Young will be playing for the Knox Raiders of Australia’s NBL1 — the second-tier professional league in the country. The National Basketball League is the top league in Australia. The NBL1 operates during the offseason of the NBL.
The Knox Raiders have already started their season, winning six of their first seven games. There are still 15 games left in the regular season that runs through mid-July.
Soon after Young goes through graduation ceremonies at Murray State this weekend, she’ll be heading Down Under to join her new team.
Young finished her career earning First Team All-Conference honors five times, including being named the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year. Her 3,029 points and 1,215 rebounds both rank as the most in Racer history. Murray State retired her #31 during Senior Night festivities in March.
After the summer season is over in Australia, Young plans to continue her career in Europe later this fall.
Congratulations! I hope she will do well.
I think she’ll love Australia. Jennifer & I have spent some time there and the Aussies really seem to be big fans of Americans. What a great experience for her! 🐎
