Miller adds third assistant coach in Neal
MBB: Neal most recently worked as an assistant coach at Hawai'i

Murray State Head Coach Ryan Miller has announced the hiring of new assistant coach Cullen Neal to join Miller’s first staff in Murray. Neal has been a college assistant for five years with stops at Nevada, Rice, and, most recently, Hawai’i where he spent the last three seasons.
"I'm grateful and ecstatic to join Coach Miller's staff at Murray State," Neal said in a statement. "To be able to join this prestigious basketball program and learn from a great basketball mind in Coach Miller was a huge selling point for me. I'm looking forward to positively impacting the next generation of Racers and contributing to a basketball program that continually competes for Missouri Valley Conference Championships."
Neal joins Brendan Mullins and Mardracus Wade on Miller’s first staff at Murray State.
"Cullen Neal's addition to our coaching staff is a tremendous win for Murray State," Miller said in a statement. "Having known Cullen since my time working alongside his father, Coach Craig Neal, at New Mexico, I've witnessed his growth firsthand—from a standout Division I player to a rising star in coaching. His passion for basketball and deep understanding of the game will greatly benefit our program. I'm excited to work with Cullen to build something special for Racer Nation. Together, we're committed to fostering a culture of excellence and success for our student-athletes."
Neal scored nearly 1,200 points and dished out more than 300 assists in his playing career that included stops at New Mexico, Ole Miss and Saint Mary’s. He was part of an NCAA Tournament team at New Mexico his freshman season of 2014.
Miller’s staff is starting to come together with Mullins, Neal and Wade handling assistant coaching duties, Ernie Kuyper being the program’s general manager, and Jack Seltsam filling the role of Director of Basketball Operations. More staff additions will take place in the coming weeks.
I LOVE Murray State, but it would be very hard to get me to leave a job in Hawaii, lol.
Thanks Jeff!!!
